A verse in the Book of Edras (Ezra) in the Latin Vulgate Bible, which was in common use before the English language King James Bible, reads “Magna est veritas et praevalet” which means “Great is the truth and it prevails”.
The version in the question is a common misrepresentation which actually means “The truth is great and shall prevail”

Looks very interesting – I’m PM of The Alexandra Lodge 1188 in Hamilton New Zealand, doing a bit of research for a potential lecture (ours being a lodge established by ex-British soldiers at Alexandra, now called Pirongia, in 1865, at the end of our ‘Maori Wars’). I’m not expecting them to have had military lodge, but you never know until you look…..

In England the Mark degree is under the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons which is a soveriegn body in its own right. The candidate must be a Master Mason, during the ceremony of advancement he is first made a Mark Man and then a Mark Master Mason.

How are you?I an individual based in Nairobi Kenya.My first interest of the freemasonry was inspired by reading Sir Andy Chande biography,and there was a man whom I would personally like to emulate a person whom according to me has lived a full life.Reasons being I,m an individual who is interested in arts ,mysteries of the world,charity and attaining that higher understanding of life.Something that after reading some contents in your website I believe, being a member of this interesting fraternity would enable me to archive my goals.The only problem is that one of the requirements of joining the craft, one is supposed to be introduced by a member of the fraternity.Here in Nairobi there is a lodge but since I cannot just burge in without using protocol, I would like to inquire if there is any way you could be of assistance.Since the logde here does not have a website in which I contact them.
Your response will be highly appreciated.
